Who is responsible
This website (kellywestra.com) is run by Kelly Westra (“Kells & Co”) in the Netherlands. For questions about privacy, email hello@kellywestra.com.
What data I collect and why
Comments. If you leave a comment, I store your name, email address, optional website, the comment itself and your IP address. I use this to show your comment, reply to you and prevent spam. Your email address is never shown publicly. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in running a blog and preventing spam. I keep comments until you ask me to remove them. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet, a service of Automattic Inc., which receives the comment data for that purpose.
Craft apps (Count On It and Square Deal). The apps save your projects only in your own browser (local storage) on your device. I don’t receive, store or have access to this data, and there are no accounts. Because the data lives in your browser, clearing your browser data or switching devices means your projects won’t be there. To move projects between devices, use the export and import function in the app. Exported files are saved by you, on your own device, and are not sent to me.
Hosting and server logs. This site is hosted by Strato AG in Germany, and I have a data processing agreement with them. When you visit, the server processes technical data such as your IP address, the pages requested and your browser type, in order to deliver and secure the site. These logs are kept for a limited period, as set by the hosting provider.
Links to other websites. Some posts link to other sites, such as shops or social media. I don’t control those sites, and their privacy policies apply once you leave this one.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, and it doesn’t load content from third parties such as social networks, ad services or font providers. Because of this, there is no cookie banner.
Sharing your data
I don’t sell your data. It’s shared only with the services described above that help run the site: my hosting provider and Akismet.
How long I keep your data
Comments: until you ask me to remove them. Server logs: for a limited period, as set by the hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, object to its use, or ask for a copy of it. Email me at hello@kellywestra.com and I’ll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
